Tucked away on the 3th floor of the high-class department store, The Emporium, on Sukhumvit Road, there is a great place for you to relax, enjoy and spoil your taste buds with the real and authentic Japanese Cuisine, namely “AOI Japanese Restaurant”. It’s another branch of AOI Japanese Restaurant to enjoy to your heart’s content, serving the same delicious cuisine as served at the original AOI in Silom and Siam Paragon.
We firstly were impressed by the decoration that is truly like walking in Japan and secondly a warm welcome by a talented and highly skilled Executive Chef, Mr. Takuya Iguma, who is originally from Japan and brings with him a great wealth of experience having worked with various restaurants in Japan, Taiwan and America. Chef Takuya has already 15 years with this admirable restaurant in Bangkok where he feels is home now. The chef started the conversation with us “We intend to deliver the genuine taste of Japanese food to our customers here by using fresh and quality seasonal ingredients flown directly from Japan. We serve an array of seasonal Japanese cuisine which depends on its timing. In the restaurant, customers can choose whether to sit in the elegant Japanese style private rooms, tables or at the counter”.

Chef recommended us there special dishes to try which were Nigiwai Sushi, Udon Suki and Hokkai Kama. We started with the “Nigiwai Sushi”, which is mixed sushi and sashimi. The delight of this dish is that you will be spoiled with the natural sweetness and freshness of the sashimi and the tasty sushi.
Then we continued with the “Hokkai Kama”, cooked rice topped with salmon and salmon eggs and of course with Chef’s secret seasoning. I am delighted to recommend this menu to all rice and salmon lovers as you will not be disappointed as you savor the Japanese rice cooked with Dashi that they serve.
The meal ended with the finale “Udon Suki”. The special aspect of this menu is the “Dashi” that’s rich with quality ingredients and gained more flavor from the seafood that we put in the pot. I will not say anything much about this menu, but only want to tell you that “my mouth is watering when writing and thinking about it”. So, when is the next appointment to go back there?
